Renal Therapy Services (RTS) Dialysis Center Murcia VII in Murcia, Spain is the result of a collaboration between Baxter and the Murcia Health Service. The focus of RTS Murcia VII is on customizing treatment for each patient and implementing the latest available technology.

The center currently treat about 130 patients and performs approximately 20,000 treatments a year, while the capacity of the clinic is nearly as double as much.

This modernized facility uses new hemodialysis monitors allowing customized therapy, specifically based on patients’ needs and provides easier tracking of patients’ progress. All assistive devices and monitors are connected through the center’s computer system, which is used by health professionals to more easily manage clinical information. Furthermore, the system is integrated with the public referral hospital, so nephrologists can keep track of their patients’ health in real time with their up to date clinical status and account for the products used in each hemodialysis session.

Additionally, the facility itself incorporated tangible measures in construction with regard to environmental responsibility. As a fundamental part of the dialysis center in enhancing functionality, two water treatment plants and two complete pre-treatment systems help ensure a seamless operation that minimizes unforeseen interruptions. In an effort to build a sustainable environment, the water treatment plants do not use any chemicals for disinfection and are powered through the use of solar panels.

RTS Murcia VII dialysis center is equipped with comfortable beds with TVs, internet access and individual lockers for patients. The center also has a training room where health professionals can learn the latest techniques for dialysis treatment.
